How To Start And Use A Toro 721 Single Stage Snow Blower

How to start and operate the blower:

  1. Fill the blower with regular 87 octane fuel
  2. Turn the key to the “on” position
  3. Press the priming button 3-5 times
  4. Pull the choke lever out
  5. Pull the pull cord.  It should only take 1-2 pulls to start the engine
  6. Allow the engine to warm up for a couple of minutes
  7. Push the choke lever in.  The engine RPMs should increase, and the engine will run smoothly
  8. To engage the paddle, pull the handle back toward you.  The paddle will help pull the blower along as it clears snow
  9. Use the chute adjustments to throw the snow in your desired direction

How to shut down the blower:

  1. Turn the key to the “off” position
  2. Clear excess snow from the body and chute areas before loading the machine back up

If the blower bogs down or gets clogged:

  1. Turn off the machine
  2. Check to see if there is packed snow, slush, or ice behind the paddle or in the chute
  3. Use a stick or broom handle to clear away the excess snow or slush
  4. Re-start the machine and test it out.  It should work better
